Surprise Mail Love

The best kind of mail is the packages that you aren't expecting! If you are waiting for them they never seem to come and then you find yourself checking the mail everyday hoping that today is the day and when you open that little grey box to see nothing (or worse BILLS), you get sad and disappointed. Last week we came home to find a brown package waiting for us. The kids seemed to know it was for them (they always are) and right away guessed it was from grandpa & grandma! Right they were! Josh announced that "grandpa & grandma always send the best presents, we HAVE to open it right NOW!" Damien jumped up and down and Bella, well.... Bella squealed and squealed and....... yup, that's right! Squealed! When I got my hearing back we opened the box and hands were flying in and out of the box like crazy. Then it was "This is for me! No that's mine!!!!!"

We eventually got it all sorted out and everyone was quite pleased with there surprise stash of presents!
Now, I know you want to see what they were so excited about so here is their picture show and tell!!!!!!

TINKERBELL!!!!!!!  How exciting! And this girl is a smaller version of her mama! Clothes and shoes and tinkerbell = heaven!

"Jibbies" are on the top of the list! Again like her mama and if she could live in pj's, she would!
The boys each got a glow in the dark Halloween shirts. VERY exciting!
They decided that they were going to wear them to bed, but they need to be charged to glow!
So I finish putting Bella to bed and come out to them laying on the floor in the hallway, under the bright lights, trying to wait for them to be "full of power"!
How cute (and smart) is that!?

These happen to be a highlight of all packages from grandpa & grandma! Gorgeous little Thomas the Train story books! Usually the pick for before bed stories!

Have you received any packages lately? Who gets the most in your household?
Thus ends this wonderful nights post! I am off to play "I win" with the family! Nice hot cup of tea and family fun by the fire is one of my favorite things to do!

Goodnight all!!!!

Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday was the annual fall fundraiser for our local elementary school. Pumpkin patch, corn make, pony rides, hay rides, all the fun stuff that comes along with fall! The kiddies had a blast! We convinced Grandpa to come with us, which of course was like twisting his rubber arm!  Bella held his hand almost the entire time and only let go to chase the bubbles, so Damien ran in quickly to take his turn. They picked their own pumpkins, wanting the biggest they could find, but told only what they can carry. Here are some pictures of our fun!!!!

As you can see it was a blast and such a gorgeous day out too!  When we got home they all put their pumpkins in the middle of the table and then proceeded to ask why they didn't have faces?! Apparently pumpkins are supposed to just come with faces when you get them from the pumpkin patch. Josh will do anything to avoid touching the "GUTS" ewwwwww he says! Then we have little miss Bella who would play with those "GUTS" for hours. Hours I tell you! And giggle like mad while doing so.

Well, kids are in bed, daddy is out for a bit and I have a nice peaceful house, amazing and very unheard of I know! I am off to take advantage of it, time for a nice hot cup of chamomile/lavender tea by the fire with an addicting book and cozy blanket wrapped around me <3

Good Night all!

Work Space Sneak Peak

I have spent the last few days rearranging the house. I love that it looks like a new home, some where fresh and roomy! We are no where near done yet, but it is getting there!

So I thought that I would give you a little sneak peak of my crafty corner.....

Adventure Hunting We Go

Aunty Kelly is here now! Yay! First thing on her list was none other than The Beach! The ocean! The Sand! The Rocks! The Water! NOW!

So we packed up the kiddies and went to see what we could see, and boy was there alot to see! Jelly fish, nothing but the skeleton of a fishy, giant rocks, and really neat shells.

From the beach we headed to the market and then it was nap time!

Now I will leave you with nothing but a look into our hunt! Enjoy your thanksgiving weekend everyone!

DIY Felt Flower Headband

Happy Thursday everyone!  I thought it would be fun to do a very photo full, how-to on my newest etsy listing.  A multi layered big felt flower baby/toddler headband, although you could skip the baby/toddler part and make it just for you!

We are going to start with these flowers. Print them and cut them out. You are going to need to print 2 different sized sheets and cut out 5 of them (not all 6).

Pick out your pieces of felt

When you have all your flower shapes ready
Lucky me, hubby cut some out of balsa wood for me <3

Trace them all (I use chalk, incase I mess up, which is regularly lol)

 Cut them all out
Layer the flowers, trying to keep the centers in the same spot and changing up where the "petals" lay
Pick your favorite button, and matching embroidery floss.  Sew the button into the center of your flower arrangement
Trace and cut the largest flower in coordinating cotton fabric
Pick out a baby/toddler (or you) sized headband
I like to cover the sewn part, so I place the flower over it and glue the band and flower together with a hot glue gun

Place your fabric flower over top of the band and match it up with the felt
Get out your needle and embroidery floss and hand stitch around the large flower, sewing together the large felt and fabric flowers

Now you are done! Wear it, mail it, show it off!

I am off to get a fresh cup of java from the market, I hope everyone is enjoying this lovely fall afternoon <3
